Making pasta dishes is not that difficult if you know how to do it. In fact, making Delightful Food is an art in itself. We all want our pasta to taste good, but we need to have the right recipe. Here are some tips for making your own homemade pasta.
First, make sure you plan out a specific way to cook your pasta. It should be firm on the outside, yet can easily be fluffed up with just a bit of oil. Any pasta with too much liquid in it will end up soggy and miss out on its flavor. Cook your pasta at just the right temperature for it to stay firm but still moist. Too cold or too hot will cause it to break down.
Making Delightful Food Is Art:
A good rule of thumb is to keep your water boiling until it reaches the proper level of al dente. Once it gets to this level, turn off the heat and let the pasta rest for a few minutes before stirring in the water. It will come back up to its desired consistency.
Now that you have the water boiling, add some fresh herbs to it. This will bring out the flavor of the pasta. Fresh basil, rosemary, thyme, etc. should be used.
Next, put your pasta in a large pot or a pan on the stove and bring it to a boil. Once the water has boiled, reduce the heat to low and allow it to simmer for about 15 minutes.
Add a handful of rice into the pot and stir until the rice absorbs the flavors of the pasta. When the rice is almost cooked, remove it from the heat and add the pasta to the pot. This should have stirred up the noodles and made them thoroughly combined.
Break It Up Into Small Pieces:
Use your fork to break up the pasta into small pieces. Then, mix the rice and the pasta together. After it has been combined, use a spoon to stir and smooth out any lumps. Use your hands to stir the mixture again and make sure there are no lumps in it.
When the mixture has cooled enough to handle, form it into long strands with your hands. It may seem a little tough at first, but once you get into the routine, it will become easier. You can now separate the strands into their individual portions and put them in jars or bowls for storage.
If you are having trouble forming the strands, try using the ricer. This tool makes it easy to form the strands into long strips.
The next step is to break up some fresh or breaded shrimp and cook it until the batter has been dried out and thinned out. This will give your pasta some crunch and make it great for dipping. Or, use it in place of noodles when you are making your pasta salad or pasta dip.
To finish your pasta, add some whole wheat pasta to the mixture. You can also steam your vegetables or roast a couple of garlic cloves to make a creamy sauce. Anything goes!
Making homemade pasta is great fun and taste great as well. Enjoy!
