Sugary Foods: Sugar, chocolate, and sodas should be avoided. It is also important to avoid artificial sweeteners such as agave. As it has only been shown to have minor effects on blood sugar levels and does not provide any real benefits. If you have a sweet tooth, it is OK to eat a little bit. But try to limit yourself to as little as twenty-five grams of sugar daily.

Alcohol: Alcohol is a no-no. You should avoid drinking any kind of alcoholic beverage as it has been proven to raise blood pressure and lower the blood pressure in people who drink. Try to minimize drinking and avoid it completely if you have high blood pressure. This includes any kind of beer, wines, and hard liquor.
